 Susanne Jones

I started The Meditation Teacher Training College to provide an opportunity to deliver accredited meditation teacher training in a supported, engaging learning environment. I initially taught the curriculum developed by IMTTA.

In 2020 I launched my own course in which I draw from 30 years of personal practice, sitting at the feet of many great teachers, 20 years of nursing and 15 years of teaching experience. I have a PhD in Art Education from UNSW in which I explored how we learn and apply theory to our learning and creativity. Unexpectedly this provides the perfect background for my meditation teaching. I wish to acknowledge that although I draw from a range of sources this course is entirely my own creation.

Susanne Jones and the Red Rebels

This course is a synthesis of my learning from a range of sources and life experiences. It includes a personal passion of mine - the environment! How we live and interact with the environment, natural and created has become a very significant part of my personal practices and three years ago I developed my own teaching philosophy called earth-based mindfulness. We live at a time of great change and uncertainty we need all the help we can to remain present and aware, present with self, present with others, and present with the earth. How can we bring presence to our lives and our communities? We need aware, present mindful decision-makers in this world today.

Meditation is about being present it is not about escape. It brings us into full awareness of ourselves and our interactions with the world, with our habits and mindsets. It is not a process of withdrawal from the world but rather an awakening into the world.

In this course, we will explore aspects of meditation, how to meditate, how meditation works on the mind, and how to apply this to our daily life.

The journey to become a meditation teacher or facilitator, when delivered in a supported space, can be a transformative and inspiring experience. Whether you would like to explore your own practice in a more focused environment or develop your teaching and facilitation skills to share the benefits of regular meditation practice, this course will provide you with the skills, knowledge, and tools to change your life and impact the lives of those around you. My hope is that you, like many other meditation teachers, will help awaken peace to the hearts of many. That peace will radiate into the world.
